Sometimes it's not about the book ,just about the words in it....

My Husbands Boss asked him to go over the past three years of his work related diary to compile a log book of his Captaining the barges at work, He is getting his Captains license and needs proof of all the hours he's logged so far. That seemed simple enough he thought, He sat in his truck and started to thumb through the pages of diary's from years before and one by one, he uncovered many tragedies and losses that he thought he had dealt with in the preceding years. One by one the walls were torn down, they humbled him. They made him weak in the suffering that his life had brought him, But they also gave him courage to know he lived through it. They tore at his soul like ripping a piece of paper in half....

March 31, 2004 : Bryan dies in a car accident.... That hurt, as a matter of fact it stung, like rain hitting your face while riding in the back of a truck, no protection.....
November 2005 Grandma dies, She was sick and old some times mean but still Grandma.....
September 2006 Steve P. dies in a accident, so young,3 months away from 21.....
D.J leaves and pursues his new career, He is missed....
August 2006, I just about totaled my work truck, I was lucky, I'm still alive.
He sat and thought about it and decided why continue, he was now sad and tears streamed down his face....
Life is so short things happen fast. stop! breathe! Listen! live!
One thing about reading the past, You grow stronger living the future....

Peace!

I try not to dwell too much on the past. To me, what's in the past cannot be changed. I look mostly towards the present and the future.

But you do have a point, the past does makes you grow stronger living for the future!

TY to you both for your comments...
Nick with the past thing,I agree. I think it just felt bad and weird at the same time to have to deal with it again....
Life is weird that way!
Peace!

Fracas Dahling, When you live the life I have lived,as many have, you get a hard coating around your heart, BUT, yet the coating can still be penetrated and it leads you to the real, softer person underneath it all.
I am a loving and nurturing person by nature,I relish in happiness and and love, its just the rough stuff that makes me seem hardened and tough....
I love life and people.... I am neither calculating or sly..... I am ME!
Hugs and love to you my dear friend....
Peace!

LOL Judy... you know that makes you a smartie! From now on, my pet name for you is smartie. Tough on the outside, yet sweet and tasty on the inside. And hey.. chocolate is addictive and so is Judy!
