I've got a little light....

There was a song we used to sing in Sunday School when I was a kid. It was called "This Little Light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine" I used to belly sing that back then. I had issues, real issues and they weren't pretty. I was growing up in the presence of a child molester and a Mother who kinda gave up after awhile. She knew but she had 7 Children and in her eyes, she knew she couldn't raise us without financial support. The financial support she knew not many men would give her with that many brats running around that weren't even theirs. I had to grow up fast and grow up hard, I faced the cold reality that life wasn't pretty at age 7. Some how I kept a little light inside of my heart that things would be OK.... I still have that way of dealing with life even now at age 49. I always felt that I had something special helping me survive them days and I never gave up feeling that when I grew up I would be better for it. So I guess what I'm saying is life doesn't always give us what we think it should but don't give up, just pull out your little light and let it shine! Sing this song like I do, whenever I'm down I belt out this little light......I never forgot that I've gotta a little light and I'm gonna let it shine. I encourage every person no matter what color, what sex, what walk of life, to find your little light and let it shine!
Peace~~

Yep. I know what you mean. I grew up with an abusive alcoholic father and then married an asshat.

Somehow, I've always managed to keep on smiling and moving forward.

Love ya, Mama!

Oh Judy that is one of the first songs I learned when I was very young and a friend took me to vacation bible school.

I loved it then and still do.

Now that tune is playing in my head right now and will do so all day.

Thank you for that,
Hugs,
~Jackie

Found this post through Bobby's site...very touching and something i can relate to 110%...sometimes that little light in us is all that we have to offer us the hope that allows us to move forward and continue on..even in the face of the most terrible circumstances.
